The Day Brown Lost The Election

Gordon Brown on taking over as UK Prime Minister and succeeding Tony Blair, June 27 2007:

"I will listen and I will learn. I will strive to meet people's aspirations. I want to lead a government humble enough to know its place - where I will always strive to be - and that is on people's side."

The on the 28th April 2010 along came Mrs Gillian Duffy of Rochdale.

See here.............but you all know this story by now anyway.

Its the quote at the top I liked.

Maybe not the news the bunker needed this am.

Gordy goes on the attack.

First we have this !

The Independent reports that in an interview with the newspaper, Gordon Brown calls for a "progressive alliance" to keep the Conservatives out of power.

I wonder if making a policy that is the best means of fighting an election?

I mean use that rather than fight on

Police
NHS
Economy
Defence
Jobs
Foreign Policy
Schools

But say publically lets get together with the Lib Dems and f*** off the blue noses.

The the new saviour of British Politics Nick Clegg gets a sniff of the above and immediately in the Tories most supportive daily rag gives this ...... See Here...

Nick Clegg says 'desperate' Gordon Brown cannot be trusted
Nick Clegg has delivered his most outspoken attack on Gordon Brown, calling him “a desperate politician” as he signalled that he would find it difficult to do a deal with the Prime Minister in a hung parliament.

That will be another call to Nokia HQ for a new handset then !!!!

"I agree with Nick"
"Nick agrees with me"

Then join the fucking Lib Dems you pillock!!!!!!!!!!

Oh Vince.........what was that you said?

Businessmen on inflated salaries lecturing the rest of Britain on how to run the country are "utterly nauseating" and "being used" by the Conservative party, the Liberal Democrat Treasury spokesman, Vince Cable, says. Source

This is in response to the huge support from the business community to the Tories fight against the 1% rise in NI and the signatures on the letter of support.

And for the record that will be the same Vince Cable that last week was forced to apologise to the house for............well put it bluntly.......being a fucking liar.

So not much cred in what you say these days Vince so I suppose a few inflammatory statements will get you back in the papers and some much needed publicity.

And also does a group of individuals who employ in excess of a million people know less than you................. a politician. Most politicians have failed in there chosen career in the first instance..............hhhmmmmmm makes you think eh!

So come on Vince give us you fabled wisdom here......and I will us M&S as an example.

A 1% rise in NI will cost that company £11 Million. And that is before they even open a door and sell a bloody thing. Economic recover will be lead by the private sector not the public sector............so how does that add up to helping economic growth.

"utterly nauseating" You are right..............but not these businessmen I am afraid.

Despite the fact I have no time for Mrs Dale..........she does have a point

Yahoo

So its been called !!

May 6th for the big General Election.

So a month of being able to rip a new arse to which ever political figure falls into my cross hairs.

I have had a shitty weekend work wise.
Not much of a holiday so to speak..............so coffee is on and news wires being watched

Let the games begin.

Just 1 extra point here.
Voting is a right in our country, (I am not going on right now about parties rights/wrongs). However the act of the vote is part of our constitution.

And some may agree/disagree with me .......... but if you do not exercise that vote......if you are 1 of the "nobody worth voting for types" then sadly and not wanting to piss you off ...........Shut The Fuck Up.

You have that democratic voice.......if you are no prepared to use it......don't give an opinion.

Remember at the last General election Labour was returned to power by approx 22% of the voting population of the UK.

Just saying !

Bugger ..................... What a clever Panda

No Bugger is his name.

He frequents Subrosas blog and every now and again likes to visit my wee page of musings with a comment or 2.

However in response to my post below this one he comes up with a spot of further maths that is very scary indeed.!!!!

Think about this

If 2.75 millions equals 7.8% of the workforce, this means the workforce is potentially 35.6 millions.

8.16 millions represents 24% of the potential workforce.

Factor in spouses, civil servants, local gummint spongers, etc and I bet this would come close to the 30% who say they will vote Labour.

Now you know, the significance of the client state to Labour.

Keep them poor, keep them dependent and harvest their postal votes.

And bugger me Gordons back in No.10 again

General Election 15th April anyone ????

According to the Hootsman (and for the record O.R. and Nikko it is a shitty rag) I feel their take on the General Election date may have some merit.

And I quote.....Labour Party sources have told The Scotsman they believe that the Prime Minister is preparing for mid-April as part of an attempt to maximise Conservative embarrassment over Lord Ashcroft and to avoid the announcement of potentially damaging economic data later in the month.

The reports circulating about an 15 April date were heightened yesterday when Leader of the House Harriet Harman announced a curtailed business agenda.

Normally, she would give the Commons two weeks of business; however, she gave only six working days.

This leaves the parliamentary diary open for Chancellor Alistair Darling to give his pre-election Budget on Wednesday 17 March, allowing the Prime Minister to go to the Queen on 19 March.

This would be the last possible date for calling the election on 15 April, because he has to allow for 17 parliamentary working days.

Crucially, 19 March would be the day after Lord Ashcroft is grilled by the Commons public administration committee over his £5 million of donations to the Tories over the past ten years and his non-dom status, despite apparently promising to become a permanent resident. It means the election could be called on the day headlines accuse the Tories of trying to buy the election.

If you still think the Ashcroft story has legs!!!!!!.....better still a few more heart breaking repatriation parades through Wootton Bassett will piss all over any Ashcroft story.

The Ashcroft factor has alarmed the Conservatives, and there are some who are privately relieved Mr Brown did not call an election on 25 March this week, with the gap in the polls shrinking rapidly.

Even more importantly for Mr Brown, 15 April falls before the next GDP figures are announced on 23 April. After the long hard winter and the return to full VAT rates, it is possible that Britain will dip into negative growth.

A double dip recession......now what a shock,.......it was a given we were going to double dip. 1 reason why Ali Darling has been so tight lipped as Gordy has been helping massage the figures.

"If we go on 6 May, those GDP figures could be disastrous ten days before an election," one senior Labour back-bencher told The Scotsman. "I'm not entirely sure what the Prime Minister is thinking, but I am convinced we will have an election on 15 April.

"The only factor against it is that we do not have enormous funds, and we will have to fight two elections, with the English council elections on 6 May."

We have had many stories about Labour lack of funding, however with Mr Harriet Harmon parachuted into a tasty safe seat then Unite will still have a few quid to throw at the campaign.

The SNP's election co-ordinator, Stewart Hosie, MP, said: "There will be a constant stream of bad news over the next few months. "A cut-and-run election in April may be the least worst option for Gordon Brown."

Anyone who votes this man back in is a fucking clown.

Brown & Mandleson.......Not a very merry Christmas it seems

During the summer just passed a series of shock resignations from the Government threaten the end for Gordon Brown as PM. Caroline Flint was described as having driven a stiletto through the heart of government.

Lord Fondlebum has been credited with ensuring that Gordon Brown survived as Prime Minister when he successfully rallied cabinet colleagues behind Mr Brown when this series of resignations in June threatened to force him from office.

However, he has grown increasingly disenchanted with Mr Brown and in recent weeks the relationship has deteriorated further.

Last night, one close friend of Lord Mandelson stated: “Peter thinks that Gordon has used him to stay in place and has now just disposed of him. He clearly thinks he has served his purpose and Peter is upset about that.”

Disputes over policy have stretched the relationship between the two men to breaking point. A source claims that Lord Mandelson feels he has been “ganged up on” on various issues.

This month’s pre-Budget report, which attacked the bankers and failed to offer a more credible route for paying off the deficit further, infuriated the Business Secretary.

He made it clear he did not agree with “banker-bashing” but was over-ruled by Mr Brown.

Of course Mandleson did not because Brown wants to use that excuse to rally public support. He clearly knew what the banks were doing with toxic debt and let it happen. He gacve a hooky 60 Billion out in Nov 08 and tried to keep it hush.
He also felt slighted when Mr Brown did not push him for the European Union foreign affairs job when that was in his gift last month. Instead it went to the largely unheard of Cathy Ashton, Britain’s trade commissioner.

But also central to the falling out is Mr Brown’s decision to stubbornly refuse to change his plan to fight the election on “investment versus cuts”.

A senior Labour MP said: “Peter and Alistair (Darling) dragged Gordon to a place over the summer where he had to be more realistic about possible cuts. The result was the TUC speech.

“However, he regressed very quickly in his own conference speech and since into trying to ignore what needs to be done to deal with the deficit. Both Peter and Alistair felt he needed to be far less crude and more realistic.”

Meanwhile, Ed Balls, the Schools Secretary, has returned to a key role alongside the Prime Minister.

So as the battle lines for next year 2010 GE are drawn Gordy props the bunker up with his Hitler type allies.
But I tell you this they will run a mile once the writing is finally on the wall.

3 leaders in live Debate??????

Is being reported that the prospects for Britain’s first prime ministerial television debate have moved closer after a series of meetings involving the three main political parties this summer, with Sir David Frost emerging as a possible host.

Advisers to the three parties have touted Sir David, one of the best-known political broadcasters on both sides of the Atlantic, having interviewed Richard Nixon in 1977 over the Watergate scandal, because they believe that he would be an unbiased chairman.

It would be the first time that the leaders of the Labour Party, the Conservatives and the Liberal Democrats argued their policies together on live television before a general election.

It also reported that both Cameron and Clegg are well up for it. Mr B not commented. Hardly surprising.............the man is a useless orator, useless statesman, has no presence in front of a camera.............but I will have a fiver with anyone that the day before the big event, GB falls ill and Mandleson steps up to the plate!!!!
