Came in behind the BNP and Tommy Sheridan.
Also note the Tories, the bloddy Tories in Scotland polled more than 2.5 times the number of votes than the Lib Dems.
However we should not be surprised, when can anyone else name a time when a political party actually lost support in the polls after its annual conferance.

That closing speech of Nick Clegg must still be ringing in the ears of Glasgow NE voters. I am still laughing at it today.

It would be interesting to see the demographic of those that voted, Glasgow City Council reported over 6000 registered postal votes, a rise of some 2000 over the last two months which accounts for 30% of votes cast, surely some kind of record in there too.

Equally chilling is the revelation that over 4000 extra voters have been added to the electoral register in the last month, accounting for 25% of those that voted.

Labour Contempt for N.E. Glasgow

Blatantly stolen from Red Rag so as to get into into more Scottish and Glasgow N.E Readers.

The government has conceded the Norwich North by-election citing exceptional circumstances around expenses issues. One would think they were deluded but let's face it they are just liars. If they believed they were only going to lose because of this issue why then are they running scared of the SNP in Glasgow North.

By failing to announce a date for the Glasgow North East by-election before the Westminster recess they have shown utter contempt for democracy, and in what will surely hurt him when the election is finally called, they have shown utter contempt for the people of Glasgow North by leaving them excluded from political representation for six months.

The people of Glasgow North must surely return that contempt in November when they finally get a chance.

Another Climb Down........another Defeat

I had to laugh at the comment on sky news about this latest government defeat.

I quote " Its been a bad week few weeks the Prime Minister"

Well Sky News its been a bad few years for the British people and as the PM has 0% intent of going to the polls it wont get any better for us.

So another govenment defeat eh!

They lost a vote yesterday by 250 votes to 247. The Commons voted to drop the part of the legislation that would have allowed lawyers to use what MPs had said in Parliament against them in court.

Earlier, a committee of MPs put out a report warning the Justice Secretary the new law would stop them speaking freely on behalf of voters.

The Government had already agreed to make a concession on the Parliamentary Standards Bill by dropping plans to make a new code of conduct for MPs legally enforceable.

So this on the back of,
